BERLIN, 9 MARCH 2016. The insolvent Berlin publishing house Haffmans & Tolkemitt remains in business. Dr. Till Tolkemitt wants to continue the operations of the publishing house with its employees and publish the announced spring program. The extensive backlist of the publishing house with authors such as Yoko Ono, Roddy Doyle and Joachim Lottmann remains available. On 11 December last year, Haffmans & Tolkemitt GmbH, founded in 2009 and with a turnover of around 550,000 euros in 2014, filed for insolvency at Charlottenburg Local Court. Since then, insolvency administrator Prof. Rolf Rattunde has continued the publishing house’s operations and has sought investors. In an internal M&A process, Dr. Till Tolkemitt was successful with his offer. If the business had not continued however, authors could have recalled their rights. For this reason, the company was transferred to Till Tolkemitt UG when the insolvency proceedings were opened on 1 March. However, the already effective transfer must still to be confirmed by the creditors’ meeting.
