Provisional insolvency administrator wants to continue operations of cocoa processor Euromar with 125 employees
BERLIN and FEHRBELLIN, 12 DECEMBER 2016. The cocoa processor Euromar in Fehrbellin, Brandenburg, is to be continued in insolvency with all 125 employees. Euromar Commodities GmbH filed for insolvency at the Neuruppin district court on 2 December. The provisional insolvency administrator Prof. Rolf Rattunde is currently trying to secure pre-financing of the insolvency money. He is also conducting initial talks with banks and lenders to continue financing the business in the commodities market.
“Euromar needs high levels of pre-financing for the trade and processing of cocoa. I am therefore negotiating a mass loan so that business operations can be resumed. The intensive discussions with lenders and shareholders give cause for optimism. The Euromar production facility in Fehrbellin also makes an excellent impression. I am therefore cautiously optimistic that I will be able to continue the business with all 125 employees,” explained Prof. Rolf Rattunde of LEONHARDT RATTUNDE in Berlin. Prof. Rolf Rattunde was appointed provisional insolvency administrator by Neuruppin district court on 7 December.
Euromar Commodities GmbH, founded in 2002, trades in cocoa beans and processes them into semi-finished products such as cocoa butter, cocoa mass and cocoa powder. The leading independent company, which does not belong to any chocolate group, sells these products to customers in the chocolate, confectionery, ice cream and bakery sectors worldwide. Most recently, the company was able to increase its turnover from 520 million euros in 2013 to over 980 million euros in 2015.
Euromar is part of the Transmar Group, founded in 1980 and headquartered in Morristown, New Yersey/United States, which is active in the cocoa industry worldwide with over 1,000 employees and locations in over 154 countries.
